The TR2 800W obviously didn’t even break a sweat with this load, however I did notice the fan starting to speed up to an audible level after a few minutes of full system load.
If your system requires a lot of juice and you’re not looking for a top-shelf PSU, this simple little Thermaltake unit is definitely worth checking out.

Technically, the internal design is solid with capable load regulation and it dealt well with our cross loading tests. Ripple suppression is far from class leading, with the +12V output peaking at 70mV and the +3.3V peaking at 35mV. To be fair, these are well within the rated tolerance parameters and won’t cause any issues for the end user … however we have seen superior results from similar supplies this year. On a more positive note, overall efficiency is strong, delivering better results than we expected.

The Thermaltake TR2 800W unit is what any enthusiast would expect from a product advertised as mainstream and offered at a competitive price tag; it is a simple but reliable design which is using high quality components and is well made without any manufacturing defects, although we believe that the soldering job could have been a little better. We also feel that the inclusion of a MOV would greatly enhance the reliability of the power supply by partly shielding it against power grid voltage anomalies.

The Thermaltake TR2 shows without spending too much though as you can bring home a good product , which certainly pay a little on the +12 V line, but that does not fall below the safety levels ever , is rather good on the tensions associated with the processor and motherboard , where a rock show.
With around 110 euros you can buy a product that will provide security for your components and will have no difficulty to hold the latest configurations.
Certainly the non-modular wiring does not help in the arrangement of cables, but you know, but if you pay the features you are looking for a good product value for money on Thermaltake TR2 must be taken into account.
